LVL00 / Interface

I’m Code Cipher, a full-stack developer. I build from the pixel you tap to the query that answers it. This site is one long way down.

LVL01 / Identity

One person, every layer.

I am a full-stack software engineer who builds and runs production systems end to end: React and Next.js frontends, Go and Python services, and the AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure they run on. Right now that means delivering features across a secure, high-volume data platform, from the interface through the API to the distributed services, message queues and database migrations behind it.

I care about the work I do, and I care just as much about where it is going. Roman engineers were building bridges thousands of years ago. Software architecture is only sixty or seventy years old, and AI is already taking it into a whole new dimension. We are still in the early days of this craft, and I am excited to be part of what comes next.

LVL02 / Work

What I’ve built.

Pick a part of the page to see it, and what went into it.

The Tyre Clinic

A one-page website for an independent tyre workshop in Hull, built to get someone with a tyre problem on the phone quickly.

Someone with a flat tyre wants a phone number, not a homepage. Call and WhatsApp sit on the first screen, and the opening status is worked out in Hull time, wherever the visitor is.

LVL03 / Lab

Don’t take my word for it. Touch it.

Everything here is live and built by hand. Start by steering the tunnel behind this page.

Rain console

These controls drive the WebGL tunnel behind the page.

Command palette

The whole site is keyboard-driven. Jump layers, recolour the rain, or turn motion off.

Request tracer

A simulated trip down the stack and back, with the waterfall a real APM would draw.

Decoder

Kinetic type. Same effect as the headline, on your words.

Control bench

Small parts that have to feel right. They’re wired together, so try failing a save on a slow network.

If you’ve got something worth building, let’s talk.
